So for review and why this site was started was because it gives you the consumer or as your doctor will call you a patient, the power with knowledge as to what the highest payor in this country pays for medical procedures, Medicare (CMS). Now how does this empower you, well if you know what the largest payor pays then you know your cash is KING. So if a practice who serves 65% of the Tampa Bay, Florida population who are CMS patients then you too should have the right to pay the same, why not! Right?
Insurers also do their best to restrict payments for the people they do cover...They hire armies of adjusters and investigators to go through submitted claims looking for reasons to deny payment; it is cheaper to send out a form letter saying "claim denied" than to write a check to the doctor or the patient....U.S. insurance companies deny about 30 percent of all claims, although some of these are eventually paid through an appeal process.[1]
Starling fact, Right? So if your provider or doctor is denied payment of 30% of his/her claims, then CASH IS KING. You now have buying power, you will save them (providers) money if you pay them cash at the time of service. So if CMS pays $29.95 (lowest CMS allowable, go to the bottom and accept ) 71046 Chest x-ray 2 views frontal & lateral for a Chest X-ray why would they not take $25.00 it will save them money and you too.
Empower yourself with Medicare Allowable or the CMS allowable and save money in the process. The insurance deductibles are requiring us to pay the majority of our cost, so why not save.
By the way; your health insurance company has more than likely negotiated a price which is a percent or Lower than the CMS allowable, so check with them what you would pay and then negotiate from there. (lowest some providers have seen is 65% of CMS allowable)
We are blessed in this country with the "Free Market" use it or lose it. We have lost control of our insurance premiums and deductibles, but now you have power over that if you press, and it is more than likely a savings for your doctor if you pay cash, because they will not have to file, then bill you, then wait for payment from you or your insurance tell you, "yes, that is what you owe..."
